The New York Jets placed cornerback Dee Milliner on injured reserve with a designation to return, the team announced Sunday.

Milliner underwent wrist surgery in August and was expected to miss six to eight weeks. Milliner will not be eligible to play until after Week 8. If he returns in Week 9, he will have missed seven games.

The Jets also announced the signing of wide receiver/kick returner Chris Owusu.

Last season, Milliner played in only three games due to an ankle injury and a torn Achilles. In his rookie season, Milliner recorded 56 tackles and three interceptions in 13 games.
