Former Detroit Lions backup quarterback Kellen Moore has signed with the Dallas Cowboys, he confirmed to Chadd Cripe of the Idaho Statesman

Moore, 26, was signed by the Lions as an undrafted free agent in 2012. He has yet to appear in a regular season game. It wasn’t immediately clear whether he will join Dallas’s practice squad or the 53-man roster.

In Dallas, Moore is reunited with Scott Linehan, his offensive coordinator during his first two NFL seasons. Linehan currently holds the same role with the Cowboys.

The Lions have just two quarterbacks under contract—starter Matt Stafford and longtime backup Dan Orlovsky. Signing Moore gives the Cowboys three quarterbacks, along with Tony Romo and Brandon Weeden.

Moore starred at Boise State, where he was a four-year starter. The Broncos were 50–3 during his tenure, including an undefeated 14–0 season in 2009.

Moore was signed to a two-year contract in March but was released on Saturday as the Lions cut their roster to 53 players.
