The Buffalo Bills have released running back Bryce Brown, the team announced on Tuesday.

Brown was cut to make room for defensive tackle Marcell Dareus, who was activated off the reserve suspended list.

The Bills acquired Brown in a trade with the Eagles just before the 2014 NFL draft. He played in seven games last season, rushing 36 times for 126 yards and adding 16 catches for 176 yards.

Brown was a 2012 7th-round pick of the Eagles and rushed for nearly 900 yards in two seasons behind LeSean McCoy.

Brown has a career 4.4 yards per carry average.
