Tennessee Titans wide receiver Justin Hunter was found not guilty of assault and battery by a Virginia judge on Tuesday .

Hunter was arrested on July 20 in relation to a bar fight in Virginia Beach on July 3. Prosecutors said one man sustained a broken jaw in the incident, although the victim said Hunter was not the person who landed the most serious blow. Surveillance video was presented during the trial and showed numerous people involved in the fight.

Hunter’s attorney, Toby Vick, argued that Hunter was defending himself during the incident.

Hunter was initially charged with malicious wounding before prosecutors downgraded the charge to a misdemeanor.

Hunter, 20, is a Virginia Beach native. In the Titans’ season opener against the Buccaneers in Tampa Bay on Sunday, Hunter was targeted twice and caught one pass for 11 yards.

In 2014, Hunter appeared in 12 games (including eight starts) and caught 28 passes for 498 yards and three touchdowns.
