Green Bay Packers RB Eddie Lacy left Sunday’s game in the first quarter with an ankle injury and will not return, the team announced

The Packers had initially said Lacy was questionable to return but downgraded him to “out” after halftime. ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that X-rays on Lacy’s ankle came back negative.

Lacy carried three times for nine yards before he was injured and replaced by backup James Starks. Undrafted rookie Alonzo Harris is the third-string running back.

Lacy has not missed a game since a concussion sidelined him in the third game of his NFL career in 2013. He has led the Packers in rushing in each of the past two seasons, eclipsing 1,100 yards each year.

Last season, Lacy rushed for 1,139 yards and nine touchdown. He averaged 4.6 yards per carry and also added 427 yards and four touchdowns receiving.
