The NFL Players Association announced Monday that it is launching a new media company.

Athlete Content & Entertainment (ACE Media) will take advantage of the NFLPA's exclusive group player rights and access to more than 1,800 active players in producing original content. Future plans for the network include scripted and unscripted television shows, animated and other youth-oriented content, short-form and audio programming.

“As professional athletes we have a huge opportunity to offer unbelievable levels of access and authenticity to the fans that support us,” Seattle Seahawks cornerback Richard Sherman said in the NLFPA press release. “With the launch of ACE Media, we now have a way to seize that opportunity by creating content no one else can.”

ACE Media has already created partnerships with a range of media entities, including BET Networks, Bleacher Report, The Players' Tribune and 120 Sports. Nike is also an early strategic partner.
