The Carolina Panthers have acquired defensive end Jared Allen from the Chicago Bears pending a physical, the team announced Monday.

FOX Sports’s Jay Glazer reports Allen was acquired for a future sixth round pick.

Allen signed a four-year contract with the Bears in March 2014. In three games this season, Allen has five combined tackles, one interception and no sacks.

Charles Johnson and Kony Ealy are currently listed as starters at defensive end for the Panthers. Johnson sustained a hamstring injury in Week 3 and could miss “multiple weeks,” according to Joe Person of the Charlotte Observer

In his 12-year career with the Bears, Chiefs and Vikings, Allen has 134 sacks, 31 forced fumbles and six interceptions.
