Cleveland Browns defensive back Joe Haden will undergo an MRI for an injured rib, reports Mary Kay Cabot of Cleveland.com.

Haden injured his rib on the first defensive play of the Browns’ 27–20 loss to the Oakland Raiders on Sunday. He made a tackle after a 13-yard pass to Amari Cooper and said Cooper’s helmet went into his ribs as he fell to the ground.

Haden stayed in the game and struggled to cover Cooper throughout, giving up 11 catches for 134 yards to the rookie.

“It was tough but it’s no excuse,” said Haden. “I’ve got to play better. Everybody on the (defense), we’ve just got to put together four quarters.”

The Browns’ defense gave up 469 total yards in the loss.
