Former Washington Redskins tight end Chris Cooley will work out for the New York Giants on Tuesday, reports ESPN Radio 980.

Cooley, 33, has not played in the NFL since 2012, but announced on Aug. 17 that he would attempt to return to the league this season.

A two-time Pro Bowl selection, Cooley caught 77 passes for 849 yards and three touchdowns in 2010, but totaled just nine receptions for 73 yards in the 2011 and ’12 seasons, after being limited by a knee injury.

He was cut by the Redskins during training camp in 2012, but was later re-signed after Fred Davis was lost for the year.

In nine NFL seasons, Cooley totaled 429 receptions for 4,711 receiving yards and 33 touchdowns.
