The Colts have re-signed veteran backup quarterback Josh Johnson, perhaps an indication of Andrew Luck’s health. Indianapolis announced Wednesday that cornerback Jalil Brown was placed on season-ending injured reserve to clear a spot on the roster for Johnson.

With Luck dealing with a shoulder injury last week, Johnson was signed to serve as Matt Hasselbeck’s backup for the team’s Week 4 game. He was released earlier this week and Luck has said that he expects to return to the field in Thursday’s game against the Texans

Multiple reports Monday indicated that Luck had partially a separated shoulder

Before Sunday, Luck had never missed an NFL game in his three-plus seasons in the league. He had struggled in his first three games of the season, throwing a league-high seven interceptions.
