Browns’ Joe Thomas jokes about fans’ calls for Johnny Manziel
After Josh McCown’s stellar performance Sunday afternoon, Browns lineman Joe Thomas joked about Cleveland fans’ calls to have Johnny Manziel start.
McCown threw for a career-high 457 yards while completing 36 of 51 passes. He threw two touchdowns, no interceptions and rushed for another touchdown as the Browns beat the Ravens in overtime. Only Tom Brady has thrown for more yards in a single game this season.
Manziel made one start this season while McCown was sidelined with a concussion. He completed 8 of 15 passes for 172 yards and two touchdowns in a Week 2 win over the Titans.
Thomas is apparently pleased with how McCown has performed since his return.
The Browns improved to 2–3 with the win over Baltimore. They play the Broncos at home next week.
