Report: Seahawks’ Fred Jackson uninjured in car accident
Seattle Seahawks running back Fred Jackson is uninjured after crashing his car into a roadside pole, according to Bob Condotta of the Seattle Times.
“There is no evidence he was drag racing anyone,” Renton police spokesman David Liebman told the Times. “He was leaving the facility, and he was clearly driving too fast when he hit a street sign.”
TMZ first reported that Jackson lost control of his car during a drag race with teammate Marshawn Lynch on the way home from practice, and that at least Lynch drove away unscathed.
Jackson returned to the team’s facility after the wreck, and his car was towed away. Some of his teammates, including Richard Sherman, stopped at the scene to help Jackson out of his car.
He tweeted late Tuesday that he wasn’t racing his car at the time of the incident.
Thanks 2 everyone worried about me. I lost control of my car. My teammates, including Marshawn, stopped 2 check on me. They weren't racin me— Fred Jackson (@Fred22Jackson) October 21, 2015
Condotta shared some images from the scene of the accident on Twitter.
