The Tennessee Titans have ruled out quarterback Marcus Mariota for Sunday’s game against the Houston Texans, coach Ken Whisenhunt announced Friday.

Mariota, the No. 2 pick in this year’s draft, will miss his second straight game with a knee injury. Whisenhunt told reporters that Mariota is making progress, but the team felt he needed more reps in order to return to the lineup.

Zach Mettenberger, 0–7 in his career as a starter, will again get the nod for Tennessee after throwing for 187 yards and a touchdown in last week’s loss to the Atlanta Falcons.

Mariota has thrown for 1,239 yards, nine touchdowns and five interceptions in five games this season.

The Titans (1–5) take on the Texans (2–5) in Houston on Sunday at 1 p.m. ET.
