The St. Louis Rams signed wide receiver Wes Welker to a one year contract, the team announced Monday.

According to NFL.com’s Ian Rapoport, Welker can earn up to $700,000 in incentives, along with his $456,470 base salary, based on his playing time and catches.

Welker last played for the Denver Broncos, who did not re-sign him after his contract expired this past off-season. Welker recorded 49 catches for 464 yards in 14 games in 2014.

Welker returns to the game despite missing time due to concussions the last two seasons. He sustained two concussions within four weeks late in the 2013 season, and another during the 2014 preseason.

The Rams currently have Kenny Britt and Tavon Austin listed as the top two receivers on their depth chart.

Broncos CB Aqib Talib suspended one game for eye poke

Welker made five straight Pro Bowls from 2008 to 2012. In 10 seasons with the Dolphins, Patriots and Broncos, Welker has 890 receptions for 9,822 yards and 50 touchdowns.
