New England Patriots offensive tackle Nate Solder revealed Monday that his infant son has kidney cancer, reports the Boston Herald’s Jeff Howe.

Solder, who was placed on IR in October with a torn biceps, made the announcement while speaking at the Above & Beyond the Gratitude Gala benefiting the Joe Andruzzi Foundation on Monday.

According to the report, his son, Hudson, completed a few rounds of chemotherapy after being diagnosed with kidney cancer in October. He was born in July.

In April, Solder announced that he was diagnosed with testicular cancer in April 2014.

Doctors performed an ultrasound to confirm the diagnosis, and Solder underwent surgery to remove the testicle. The cancer did not spread to other parts of his body.

The 27-year-old returned for mini-camp, training camp and started all 16 regular-season games of the 2014–15 season, plus New England’s four playoff games on its way to a Super Bowl victory over the Seattle Seahawks.
