Bills sign general manager Doug Whaley to extension
Sunday January 10th, 2016

The Buffalo Bills have signed general manager Doug Whaley to an extension, team owner Kim Pegula announced on Twitter.

The news comes less than a week after reports indicated ownership had given Whaley and head coach Red Ryan a one-year ultimatum to get the team to the playoffs. Buffalo went 8–8 in 2015 and missed the postseason for a 16th straight year.

According to’s Ian Rapoport, Whaley signed a multi-year deal.

Whaley has been the general manager of the Bills since May 2013 and had one year remaining on his deal. Ryan is under contract for four more seasons.
