Pacman Jones: I will apologize to Antonio Brown if he doesn’t play
One day after Bengals cornerback Adam ‘Pacman’ Jones said Steelers wide receiver Antonio Brown was faking his concussion, he doubled down on that statement on Inside the NFL.
In an interview with Jets wide receiver Brandon Marshall that will air late on Tuesday, Jones says he will apologize to Brown for his comments only if he sits out Sunday’s game against the Broncos.
“I will send out an apology, I will,” Jones said. “If he don’t play. But you know and I know that when [Sunday] gets here, all of that is going out the window ... he’s going to be cleared Friday. I promise you, 24 hours before the game.”
Jones also told Marshall that Vontaze Burfict’s hit on Brown, which sent the Steelers wideout into concussion protocol, was clean.
“Every hit that Vontaze do, everyone thinks it’s dirty,” he said.
Jones was penalized in Saturday’s loss to Pittsburgh after getting into a confrontation with assistant coach Joey Porter. It prompted a profane postgame rant on Instagram, and more critical comments on Monday.
Pittsburgh will face Denver at 4:40 p.m. on Sunday in the divisional round of the NFL playoffs.
