Ted Ginn Jr. scored the first touchdown of the NFC Championship Game using his legs.

Ginn took a short pitch from Cam Newton and scored a weaving touchdown in the first quarter. Ginn started running toward the left sideline after taking the ball, then cut back the opposite way for a 22-yard score.

Ginn also set up the drive with a big punt return. Carolina led Arizona 10–0 after the touchdown.
