Athletes criticize Cam Newton for walking out of press conference
Cam Newton walked out of his Super Bowl postgame press conference after just a few minutes at the podium, which led to much criticism from athletes on Twitter who ripped him for his lack of maturity.
Here’s Newton, who was asked about his disappointment, and responded by simply saying “I’m done.”
Afterwards, some current and former NFL players, as well as some basketball and baseball players piled on Newton.
Stay classy Cam. Real mature.— Josh Reddick (@RealJoshReddick) February 8, 2016

Man the thing with Cam is he had a golden opportunity to silence a lot of his critics.. Gotta find a way to handle that better.— TJ Lang (@TJLang70) February 8, 2016
Cam can't do that after a loss— Shawne Merriman (@shawnemerriman) February 8, 2016
Tough to sit there moments after possibly the biggest disappointment of your life and channel your emotions. Comes with the territory tho— Duane Brown (@DuaneBrown76) February 8, 2016
I understand his frustrations and to be fair he didn't avoid the press conference completely but gotta take the good with the bad— Duane Brown (@DuaneBrown76) February 8, 2016
