Cardinals, Evan Mathis agree to one-year deal

Report: Patriots trade Pro Bowl DE Chandler Jones to Cardinals

The Arizona Cardinals have agreed to a one-year deal with free agent guard Evan Mathis, the team announced.

ESPN’s Adam Caplan reports the deal is worth $6,000,069. The 13-year veteran, last with the Super Bowl champion Broncos, is a two-time Pro Bowler.

The Cardinals traded guard right Jonathan Cooper to the Patriots on Tuesday in exchange for linebacker Chandler Jones. Mathis is expected to start opposite Mike Iupati.

Mathis has started 90 of 130 career games with the Panthers, Dolphins, Bengals, Eagles and Broncos.
