Former ESPN announcer Mike Tirico will serve as the play-by-play voice for NBC’s NFL preseason games, the network announced Wednesday.

Tirico will be joined by CrisCollinsworth to handle NBC's coverage of two games during the third week of preseason. Their debut will take place on Aug. 25 when the Atlanta Falcons take on the Miami Dolphins in Orlando. Three days later, the duo will handle the matchup between the Cincinnati Bengals and Jacksonville Jaguars in Jacksonville.

“As promised, Mike will contribute to all of our biggest events,” NBC Sports executive producer Sam Flood said. “From Royal Troon to Rio to the NFL, and that’s just the start.”

Tirico is set to host the network’s coverage of The Open next week and will also host NBC's daytime coverage of the Olympics beginning on Aug. 5.

There is no word on Tirico’s regular season responsibilities.
