Bears C Hroniss Grasu out for season with torn ACL
Bears center Hroniss Grasu will miss the 2016 season with a torn ACL.
Bears center Hroniss Grasu will miss the 2016 season with a torn ACL, the team announced Monday.
Grasu, who was projected to start for Chicago, sustained a non-contact injury at the team’s “Family Fest” on Saturday night.
The second-year center was carted off the field after injuring himself changing directions while blocking on a screen pass.
“I’m not gonna concede the fact that he’s gone now,” head coach John Fox said immediately afterward. “He was injured, and until the medical people look at it I won’t know the extent.”
The Bears are down to Ted Larsen and rookie Cody Whitehair at center.
