Colts kicker Adam Vinatieri sets record for most consecutive field goals made

Sunday October 23rd, 2016

Adam Vinatieri broke a record held by another Colts kicker on Sunday.

With a 33-yard field goal in the third quarter, Vinatieri broke Mike Vanderjagt’s record for consecutive field goals made with 43.

Vinatieri, 43, has played 21 seasons in the NFL, dating back to 1996 with the Patriots. He spent 10 seasons in New England before signing with the Colts in 2006.

His last miss was on a 29-yard attempt on Sept. 21, 2015 against the Jets. He also missed three extra points last season.

Vinatieri missed a 52-yard attempt in Week 1 last year but has made nine consecutive attempts of 50 yards or more since then, including all five attempts this year.

Vinatieri will turn 44 in December.
