Denver Broncos defensive coordinator Wade Phillips was released from the hospital after he was carted off the field during Sunday’s game against the San Diego Chargers, the team announced.

The team said Sunday night that Phillips was fine and was expected back at work on Monday morning, which Phillips confirmed with a tweet on Monday afternoon.

"Thanks and I appreciate everyone's concern—I am ok today and back to work at what I love—I get the big hit award for the week!" he wrote.

Chargers running back Melvin Gordon was forced out of bounds following an interception by Broncos cornerback Bradley Roby—which was eventually returned for a touchdown—and ran right into Phillips, knocking him to the ground.

He was immediately tended to by the team’s training staff, taken off the field and transported to a local hospital.

According to 9 News, Phillips was moving his hands and feet in the ambulance and was talking to his wife.

The Broncos led 10–7 at the time, with 9:22 to go in the second quarter. They went on to win the game, 27–19.
