If the Chargers choose to relocate, they could wind up sharing the L.A. Coliseum with the Rams next season, USA Today reports.

The Chargers franchise has until Jan. 15 to decide whether they will leave San Diego for Los Angeles. With the Rams’ new stadium, which the two teams would share, not scheduled to be ready until 2019, the Chargers will need a temporary home in the interim.

San Diego voters rejected a plan for a $1.8 billion stadium project that could have kept the Chargers in place. At this stage, it’s Los Angeles or remaining at Qualcomm Stadium for at least the near future for the Chargers.

“In light of the vote of the people of San Diego, it’s back on the table in earnest,” L.A. Coliseum Commission President Mark Ridley-Thomas told USA Today. “So the appropriate amount of due diligence continues to be done, and we will see if in fact we can strike a deal.”

Another reported option is the much smaller StubHub Center in Carson, Calif., a Los Angeles suburb.

To use the Coliseum, the stadium’s commission would have to adjust its lease with USC, which runs the facility, to allow a second NFL team to use the arena.
