How many games will the Saints win in 2017?

Projected record: 6–10

Unfortunately for the Saints, getting a Hall of Fame running back at 32 won’t dramatically change their fortunes this fall. Losing top receiver Brandin Cooks hurt the offense, and Ted Ginn Jr. won’t make up what Cooks could have produced. Drew Brees is still Drew Brees, but he has helmed three consecutive 7–9 seasons and there’s little reason (outside of a Malcolm Butler trade) to think 2017 will be much different.

Pivotal game: Week 7 at Packers. Since 2006, Brees has played the Packers five times, and the Saints have put up 34, 51, 34, 27 and 44 points in those contests. I have Green Bay winning this one, but we should all be rooting for a shootout.
