Week 12 Fantasy Football Rankings: Jameis Winston Returns to a Lucrative Position

Full fantasy football rankings for Week 12, including a look at Jameis Winston's return to the starting gig.

The SI.com fantasy football rankings look a little different for Week 12. With Thanksgiving dominating the week, we scrapped our usual chat with John Paulsen, giving him the week off to enjoy as much turkey as possible. Before jumping right into rankings, though, I still want to highlight one of the most intriguing rankings dilemmas of the week.

Take a look at the following stat line and see if you can discern the player’s identity: 3,746 yards, 9.14 yards per attempt, 66.3% completion rate, 25 touchdowns

Looks an awful lot like it would have to be Patrick Mahomes or Drew Brees, right? What if also told you that the player in question has 23 interceptions. Does that help you to the answer?

OK, we’ll admit to a little deception. Those stats do not belong to one player—they are the combined stats of Bucs starters Jameis Winston and Ryan Fitzpatrick. Even with the 23 interceptions, if Buccaneers Quarterback were one player this season, he’d be ranked second among quarterbacks in total points behind only Mahomes.

Winston is back under center for the Buccaneers, and chances are good that he will remain there for the rest of the season. After all, it is Week 12. Even if Winston plays terribly, it’s hard to imagine Dirk Koetter making yet another change with just six games left in the season. So where does Winston rank this week, with the Buccaneers hosting the 49ers? Well, the Buccaneers have produced six QB1 weeks this season. The only quarterbacks with as many or more are Mahomes (nine), Andrew Luck (eight), Russell Wilson (seven), Matt Ryan (seven), Cam Newton (seven), Ben Roethlisberger (six), Brees (six) and Deshaun Watson (six). That’s some lofty company. It’s hard to say he’s any worse than a top-12 play this week.
