Jaguars owner Shad Khan said cornerback Jalen Ramsey will return to the field in Week 6 on Sunday as Jacksonville hosts the Saints.
"[Ramsey] is going to be playing this week," Khan told TheStreet's Katherine Ross on Thursday. "You got to balance what's good for the team with what the individual maybe wishes might be. ... I met him a couple of days ago, had a heart-to-heart, and I think we'll be able to come to whatever is best for all."
Ramsey has been out of the Jaguars' lineup since a win over the Titans on Sept. 19. The Florida State product requested a trade from Jacksonville on Sept. 16, and he's subsequently missed the Jaguars' last two games with back and hamstring injuries.
Jacksonville's cornerback disputed Khan on Thursday. He will "listen to his body," before making a decision to play against New Orleans, according to ESPN's Josina Anderson.
Ramsey was drafted out of Jacksonville with the No. 5 pick in the 2016 NFL draft. He was named a Pro Bowler in 2017 and 2018, earning All-Pro honors in 2017.
The Jaguars enter Sunday's contest third in the AFC South at 2–3. They lost to the Panthers 34-27 on Sunday after wins over the Titans and Broncos.
Jacksonville is seeking its second playoff appearance since 2008 this season.
