Report: Rams Placing Aqib Talib on Injured Reserve With Rib Injury

The Rams have placed cornerback Aqib Talib on injured reserved with a rib injury, ESPN's Lindsey Thiry reported on Monday.

Talib, 33, appeared on the injury report for the first time this season last Wednesday after missing practice. He remained out for the rest of the week and was eventually ruled out of the team's Week 6 matchup with the undefeated 49ers. 

The Rams' secondary surrendered 232 passing yards in the eventual 20-7 loss.

Talib will be eligible to return to action in eight weeks, when the team takes on the Cowboys in Week 15. He recorded 14 tackles before the injury this season.

Los Angeles will likely turn to cornerback Troy Hill in Talib's absence.

The Rams (3–3) next face the Falcons (1–5) on Sunday at 1 p.m. ET.
