Chargers left tackle Russell Okung is ready to return after suffering a pulmonary embolism this summer.

Okung made the announcement on social media and said he could "be back to football as early as Week 7." The Chargers said he will return to practice on Thursday.

The NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports the Chargers agreed to a restructured contract with Okung upon his return. His salary was reduced when he was placed on the non-football illness list, but he will earn back the $13 million he was originally supposed to make.

Okung revealed in June that he suffered a pulmonary embolism caused by blood clots. Later that month the Chargers placed him on the NFI list and said they did not have a timetable for his return.

Los Angeles travels to Tennessee to play the Titans this Sunday in Week 7. Kickoff is slated for 4:05 p.m. ET. Okung's return is a huge relief to the Chargers, who have gone 2–4 while struggling with injuries at the start of this season.
