Browns safety Damarious Randall was ejected midway through the third quarter of Cleveland's Thursday night game against the Steelers following a vicious hit against Steelers WR Diontae Johnson. Johnson was carted off the field and bleeding from his ear following the helmet-to-helmet contact. The Pittsburgh WR was evaluated for a concussion and did not return.

With just over eight minutes to go in the quarter, the Pittsburgh wideout was attempting to catch a deep pass from quarterback Mason Rudolph when Randall collided with him.

The Browns safety was promptly ejected. Randall’s absence meant that just minutes into the second half, Cleveland had lost both starting safeties as Morgan Burnett exited the game with an Achilles injury and was ruled out.

Johnson’s injury was one of many for the Steelers on Thursday night as both JuJu Smith-Schuster and James Conner were ruled out for the game before halftime with injuries.

The Browns held on to beat the Steelers 21-7.
