As one of the most accomplished quarterbacks on the open market, Derek Carr should have numerous options when it comes to finding a new home in 2023. And the former Raider will get a chance to meet face-to-face with them soon enough.

Carr, who was released by Las Vegas earlier this month, will travel to Indianapolis to meet with teams gathered there for the NFL scouting combine, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.

Rapoport said that Carr has already met with the Saints and Jets, and is treating the combine as an opportunity to get a “leg up on everybody else” before free agency officially begins on March 15.

While Carr reportedly is seeking $35 million per year in his next contract, Rapoport said that the biggest factor in meeting with new teams is Carr’s fit with his eventual new home.

“Here’s what I’ve been told: this is about fit. I know price will come up. Derek Carr has not had any substantial discussions about price or value with any of these teams,” Rapoport said. “It has been all about fit, that is the most important thing. And we will see, perhaps shortly, where he lands.”

Carr spent his first nine seasons in the league with the Raiders after being selected with the No. 36 pick in 2014. Last year, he threw for 3,522 yards with 24 touchdowns and 14 interceptions in 15 games, earning his fourth career Pro Bowl selection.
