Bryce Young’s Official NFL Combine Measurements Are In
Bryce Young is the potential No. 1 pick in the 2023 NFL draft. However, there have been many concerns about Young’s size as he prepares to make the leap to the professional level.
At Alabama, Young was listed at 6’0”, 194 pounds, which is considered on the smaller side for an NFL signal caller. On Saturday, the official measurements of the former Crimson Tide quarterback were announced at the NFL Combine in Indianapolis.
Young’s official height was 5’10”, 204 pounds with hands coming in at 9 3/4 inches. Young’s combine measurements are closely comparable to Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray’s in 2019. Murray was recorded at 5’10”, 207 pounds with his hands at 9 1/2 inches.
Despite being smaller in stature, Young has not let the questions and conversations deter him from goal to be a top-tier NFL quarterback.
“I’ve been this size, respectfully, for my whole life. I know who I am, I know what I can do,” Young said Friday at the combine. “I think it’s fair, everyone can speculate and ask whatever questions are necessary, but I’m going to continue to control what I can control. I’m going to keep working my hardest to put myself in a good position. And I’m confident in myself. I know what I can do, and I’m just excited to get to the next level.”
With Young’s measurements now official, conversation of where the signal caller will be selected in this year’s draft could become louder. The Bears currently own the top pick in the draft.
However, Chicago could decide that it is comfortable going forward with Justin Fields as its quarterback. If the Bears do, the question becomes whether Chicago will take another top prospect with its pick or trade down with a team looking to secure a franchise quarterback.
With more than a month remaining until the NFL draft, Young remains focused on showcasing why he should be the top pick among this year’s wave of new players.
