Commanders, RT Andrew Wylie Agree on Three-Year, $24 Million Contract, per Report
The Commanders are set to sign offensive tackle Andrew Wylie to a three year, $24 million deal, according to Tom Pelissero of NFL Network.
Wylie was the starting right tackle for the Chiefs last year, and the veteran reunites with offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy after the two spent the past five seasons together in Kansas City. In total, Wylie started 59 games over his five seasons with the Chiefs, including all 17 games last season.
The tackle will most likely start on the right side of the offensive line, as the team has left tackle Charles Leno signed through 2024 at left tackle. Washington allowed 48 sacks last season, which ranked in the bottom 10 of the league.
Kansas City, meanwhile, may have two different offensive tackles next season as Wylie now has signed elsewhere and Orlando Brown Jr. is also a free agent. As a replacement, Kansas City reportedly will sign free agent tackle Jawaan Taylor to a four-year deal.
