Dak Prescott Pays Tribute to Ex-Teammate Ezekiel Elliott on Instagram

The Cowboys released Ezekiel Elliott after seven years with the team, marking the end of an era in Dallas. The running back was the No. 4 overall pick in the 2016 draft for the Cowboys, and leaves the team with the third-most rushing yards in franchise history.

With Elliott moving on, it seems like it will be an adjustment for the Cowboys quarterback. Dak Prescott was a fourth round pick during the 2016 draft, and he has spent his entire career playing alongside Elliott. On Thursday, Prescott posted a picture in his Instagram stories tipping his cap in tribute to his former teammate.

In 2016, Prescott and Elliott finished first and second for the NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year, with Prescott narrowly beating out Elliott. The pair won three NFC East championships together and played in six playoff games, but were never able to make a run to the Super Bowl.

Dallas will most likely rely more on Tony Pollard next year to replace Elliott’s production as they try to return to the playoffs. However, having Prescott on the field without Elliott will be an adjustment for many people, including the quarterback.
