Cowboys Re-signing DE Dante Fowler, per Report

The Cowboys are bringing back pass rusher Dante Fowler Jr. on a one-year deal, ESPN’s Jon Machota reports.

Fowler is a seven-year NFL veteran whom the Jaguars originally drafted with the third pick of the 2015 NFL draft. After missing his entire rookie season, Fowler played 2.5 seasons in Jacksonville before the team traded him to the Rams in ’18.

Since then, Fowler has played for Los Angeles, Atlanta and Dallas as a primary pass rusher. Last season, he totaled six sacks with the Cowboys as a backup, his most since his career-high 11.5 sacks with the Rams in 2019. He also had 27 tackles and two forced fumbles for Dallas in 2022.

Fowler returns to a pass rushing group alongside Micah Parsons, DeMarcus Lawrence and Dorance Armstrong Jr. Those four combined for 34 sacks last season, which was as many or more total sacks than six NFL teams produced.
