Aaron Rodgers Seen Working Out With Jets’ Allen Lazard as Trade Talks Continue

As the Packers and Jets continue discussing a deal for Aaron Rodgers, the future Hall of Fame quarterback made noise on social media Friday courtesy of an intriguing picture with a former teammate and one of New York’s top offseason acquisitions.

An Instagram post shared by Proactive Sports Performance, a training center in Westlake Village, Calif., showed a shot of Rodgers being chased around a practice field by new Jets receiver Allen Lazard, his teammate for five seasons in Green Bay. Needless to say, the often-cryptic Rodgers appeared to be in good spirits while running away from Lazard, who signed with New York shortly after being reportedly listed on the 39-year-old QB’s “wish list” for possible teammates in a future move.

While the picture, along with its a not-so-subtle caption of “Shall we play a game of #CaptionThis?” will surely add to the already rampant speculation, Rodgers still remains a Packer for the time being. As of Friday, the Jets and Packers have yet to work out a trade for the four-time MVP, who expressed his desire to be traded to New York on March 15.

During last month’s NFL owners meetings, Jets owner Woody Johnson told reporters he was “pretty confident” a trade would still get done. Jets general manager Joe Douglas and coach Robert Saleh also indicated similar sentiments, but noted the team was without a timeline in regard to when a trade would come to fruition, though Johnson suggested it could be sooner rather than later.

“I’m not the patient sort. We’re in the win business. We have to win now,” Johnson said.
