Lamar Jackson Reacts to Blockbuster Deal With Ravens in Epic Video

The biggest pre-draft domino fell hours before the first round began when the Ravens agreed to a five-year, $260 million deal to re-sign quarterback Lamar Jackson. While Baltimore fans were elated at the news, they likely weren’t as excited as the former MVP himself.

Shortly after news of the agreement broke, the Ravens shared a video of Jackson addressing the deal for the first time. In it, he alluded to the long road that he and the team took to get here—one with a lot of “he say, she say,” as he put it—before showing his emotion at getting to stay in the only city he’s known during his professional career.

The deal makes him the highest-paid quarterback in the league, surpassing the five-year, $255 million contract Jalen Hurts signed with the Eagles. It also brings a resolution to a rocky offseason for Jackson and the Ravens after the 26-year-old requested a trade in March.

Jackson has spent his entire five-year career with Baltimore after being taken with the No. 32 pick in the 2018 draft. He’s made 61 career starts, winning the league’s MVP award in ’19. Last year, he threw for 2,242 yards with 17 touchdowns and seven interceptions in 12 games, adding 764 yards and three scores on the ground.
