Eagles Trade for Lions RB, Philadelphia Native D’Andre Swift, per Report

D’Andre Swift trade rumors have bubbled up throughout the NFL draft, after the Lions used the No. 12 pick to select Alabama running back Jahmyr Gibbs. On Saturday, as with the fourth round underway, Detroit found a trade partner for the former Georgia star: the Eagles, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports.

According to Schefter, the Lions receive a 2025 fourth-round pick and will move up from No. 249 to No. 219 in Saturday’s seventh-round in a pick swap.

As Schefter notes, the 24-year-old Swift is a Philadelphia native, making the deal a homecoming for the newest Eagles rusher. The move also adds yet another Bulldogs standout to a roster that is increasingly littered with them. The fourth-round selection of Kelee Ringo marked the fifth member of the 2021 Georgia defense to be taken by Philadelphia in the last two drafts. Swift becomes the sixth ex-Georgia player to join the club.

Swift, entering his fourth NFL season, appeared in 14 games for Detroit in 2022, rushing for 542 yards and five touchdowns, adding 389 yards and three scores through the air.

He joins a backfield that features Eagles stalwarts Boston Scott and Kenneth Gainwell and the recently acquired Rashaad Penny, formerly of the Seahawks.
