Broncos Invite Ex-Cowboys QB Ben DiNucci to Training Camp

Former Cowboys quarterback Ben DiNucci has received an invitation to training camp from the Broncos, the XFL announced on Wednesday.

DiNucci most recently served as the quarterback for the upstart Seattle Sea Dragons during the 2023 XFL season, but he’ll get a chance to get back into the NFL following the invitation to Denver’s training camp.

The 26-year-old last appeared in the NFL in 2020 with Dallas, when he featured in a total of three games, making one start. The Cowboys selected him in the seventh round of the 2020 NFL draft out of James Madison.

DiNucci took to Twitter to share his gratitude over his stint in the XFL and his excitement over his opportunity with the Broncos.

“Second chances are hard to come by. Can’t say thank you enough,” wrote DiNucci, who tagged Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, Dany Garcia and the XFL in his post. “Seattle, you guys were incredible all year long. It was an honor. Football is fun. Playing again is fun. No reason not to smile. Onward & Upward.”

Across 10 games for the Sea Dragons in the spring of 2023, DiNucci registered a league-high 2,671 passing yards. He threw 20 touchdown passes and 13 interceptions while completing 64.7% of his pass attempts.

His performance in the XFL was enough to attract the interest of the Broncos, who put forth an invitation to DiNucci for their training camp.

He’ll compete to earn a place on the roster alongside Denver quarterbacks Russell Wilson, Jarrett Stidham and Jarrett Guarantano.
