Saints TE Foster Moreau Announces Cancer Is in Full Remission
Saints tight end Foster Moreau announced via Twitter on Monday that his cancer is in full remission.
Moreau was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s lymphoma in March, something the New Orleans medical staff alerted him to while he was taking a free agency visit with the team. During Moreau’s physical, Saints team physician Dr. John Amoss noticed the tight end had an enlarged lymph node around his clavicle.
It was later determined after further testing that Moreau had a rare but treatable form of Hodgkin’s lymphoma. He underwent treatment throughout the month of May, and his announcement on Twitter indicates he’s on the road to recovery.
“After a few tumultuous months, I’ve been blessed with the news that I am in full remission from Hodgkin Lymphoma! I’m so grateful to everyone who reached out to offer their love and support; our prayers were answered. From here I will continue to live my life as God intended AMDG,” wrote Moreau on Twitter.
The 26-year-old signed a three-year, $12.2 million deal with the Saints in May. The contract includes over $8 million in guaranteed money.
Moreau spent the first four years of his NFL career with the Raiders, who drafted him in the fourth round (No. 137) of the 2019 NFL draft out of LSU.
