Dolphins’ Tyreek Hill Aiming for Record-Breaking, 2,000-Yard Season in 2023

Dolphins star wideout Tyreek Hill is determined to make NFL history in 2023.

While appearing on "It Needed To Be Said " podcast, Miami’s superstar receiver shared his lofty goal of becoming the first wideout in league history to eclipse the elusive 2,000 yard mark.

Hill, who set career-highs in receptions (119) and receiving yards (1,710) in his first season in South Beach, would need to average 117.6 yards per game if he played in all 17 regular season games in order to etch his name in the history books.

“All I’m going to say is 2,000 yards was on my bucket list to get bro before I leave this league,” Hill said. “Ya’ll think Cheetah gonna leave without doing something he promised himself he gonna do as a jit?. I got ya’ll baby! 2,000 yards and another Super Bowl [win], we getting that, believe that. Thank you.”

No player has ever surpassed 2,000 receiving yards in a season, with Lions Hall of Fame wideout Calvin Johnson owning the all-time single-season benchmark with 1,964 yards back in 2012.

In 2021, Rams star wideout Cooper Kupp became only the second player to ever top the 1,900-yard mark in a season. During that spectacular campaign Kupp won the receiving triple crown, leading the NFL in receptions (145), receiving yards (1,947) and receiving touchdowns (16) in a season.

Hill has topped 1,400 yards just twice in his career, but he strongly believes that Miami’s offense, led by the accurate Tua Tagovailoa, has all the pieces in order to help him attain record heights.

“I’ve got obviously the most accurate quarterback in the NFL. I’ve got one of the best head coaches [Mike McDaniel] in the NFL, and also my position coach [Wes Welker] is a monster also. So just having those three things, and me just keeping the same mind-set each and every day that I want to get better and I want to break the record. And I do want to break the record.”
