Dalvin Cook Hypes Jets’ Super Bowl Chances Despite 55-Year Drought

The Jets made arguably the biggest offseason additions of any NFL team and new running back Dalvin Cook was asked about fans’ hope that the team can win the Super Bowl with its upgraded roster.

And Cook isn’t shying away from expectations of greatness.

“I think it’s very realistic,” Cook told The New York Post on Monday. “Obviously, you look at the roster, you look at the people we’ve added and the things that we already had, just combining that in one, and I think it’s something to be excited about. We just gotta go out there and do our part.”

New York fans typically have little patience for mediocrity, and the Jets haven’t reached the playoffs since the 2010 season. But there is legitimate hope in regard to this year’s team.

The Jets went 7–10 in 2022, but they added four-time MVP quarterback Aaron Rodgers to the mix along with wide receivers Mecole Hardman and Allen Lazard. Then the team landed Cook, a four-time Pro Bowler with the Vikings who has rushed for at least 1,000 yards in each of the past four seasons.

With a top-tier defense already in place, the Jets are aiming to win it all for the first time since the 1968 season.
