Bears’ Brisker Pours Cold Water on Jordan Love Hype Despite Packers Win

Despite Packers quarterback Jordan Love dominating the Bears in his first start in the post-Aaron Rodgers era, Chicago starting safety Jaquan Brisker was not impressed by the young signal-caller.

Love was nearly flawless, throwing for 245 yards and three touchdowns in Green Bay’s 38–20 road win, helping to lead the club to their ninth consecutive win over Chicago. Dating back to 2016, the Packers own a 14–1 mark against the Bears.

The hatred between NFC North rivals apparently is clouding the vision of Chicago’s young quarterback who he described as “nothing special” while speaking with reporters after Sunday's loss.

“He’s just Jordan Love. Number 10. Packers quarterback. He’s nothing special,” said Brisker.

The new face of the Packers franchise elicited praise for his solid production, but it was not enough to earn the respect of a heated division rival.

Love’s performance was even more impressive considering he was missing his top receiving weapon Christian Watson, who was forced to miss the game due to a hamstring injury. The third-year signal-caller leaned heavily on Romeo Doubs who hauled in four receptions for 26 yards and two touchdowns.

Round two of the 2023 bitter NFC North rivalry will be renewed in Week 18 at Lambeau Stadium.

You can be sure that Brisker’s slight will be bulletin board material used as motivation by Love and the Packers as they seek to continue their dominance over the Bears.
