Seahawks Wasted No Time in Trolling Lions After Sunday’s Win in Detroit

Try to troll and sometimes you get trolled back. 

Lions safety C.J. Gardner-Johnson donned a blue ski mask after Week 1's victory over the Chiefs to show "it's not the same Detroit." He encouraged Lions fans to get their own masks to show that the culture had changed in Detroit and they snapped up the headgear from online vendors.

Plenty of fans wore their blue ski masks to Ford Field for Week 2's matchup with the Seahawks, creating quite a home atmosphere for the Lions.

Unfortunately, an effort like that can backfire when the home team loses. And Seattle took the opportunity to troll the Lions and their fans following its 37–31 overtime win. 

Safety Jerrick Reed II went live on Instagram after the game wearing a blue ski mask from the Seahawks' locker room, which quickly went viral on social media. 

"If that's what they wanna do, whatever their motto is, that's their motto," Seattle's Tre Brown told MLive reporter Kory Woods after the game. "I didn't really understand it but I was like 'Hey, whatever you guys wanna do to get the crowd going or follow.' Everybody got something."

Gardner-Johnson and Lions fans may want to ditch the ski masks after being trolled so publicly after a loss. But if the culture really has changed, perhaps they'll double down.
