ESPN’s Shannon Sharpe Roasts Jets QB Zach Wilson With Savage One-Liner

The play of Jets quarterback Zach Wilson has been scrutinized in the aftermath of Aaron Rodgers’s season-ending Achilles injury.

Wilson threw for 170 yards on 12-for-27 passing with one touchdown pass and three interceptions in the Jets’ 30-10 loss to the Cowboys on Sunday, adding more dialogue to the storyline that New York is a diminished team without Rodgers. That came on the heels of a 14-for-21 effort for 140 yards with one TD pass and one interception in relief of Rodgers in a season-opening win over the Bills.

ESPN’s Shannon Sharpe entered the conversation Monday morning, sharing a strong take on the Jets’ third-year quarterback.

“You’re not gonna win with him. Dude couldn’t play dead in a horror movie,” Sharpe said on First Take. “How many scenes do you need to see? I’ve seen all the Friday the 13th’s. I’ve seen all the Nightmare on Elm Streets. … You’ve got to come to the realization he is what he is.”

The Jets compiled a mere 215 yards of total offense against the Cowboys, who boast one of the league’s top defenses. Unfortunately for the Jets, their schedule does not get easier anytime soon.

New York will play host to the Patriots in an AFC East clash on Sunday at 1 p.m. ET. That matchup will be followed by games against the ChiefsBroncos and Eagles.
