Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce has been the talk of the NFL this season, but very little of that talk has had to do with his role in Kansas City’s title defense.

Instead, much of America is transfixed by his association with Taylor Swift, one of the most acclaimed and successful musicians of this century. Reports from The Messenger have indicated that Kelce and Swift are “seeing where things go” as they explore their connection.

Naturally, ESPN host and former Colts punter Pat McAfee probed Kelce about the state of his reported relationship Thursday afternoon.

“It’s hilarious how much traction this has got. It’s like an old game in school called ‘telephone,’” Kelce said. “I threw the ball in her court. I said to her, ‘I’ve seen you rock the stage in Arrowhead (Stadium), you might have to see me rock the stage in Arrowhead...’ We’ll have to see what happens.”

Kelce also implicitly scolded his brother Jason, the Eagles' center, for his contradictory answers about their relationship—which he was questioned about on both Thursday Night Football and WIP-FM in Philadelphia.

The tight end and the Chiefs are scheduled to battle the Bears on Sunday, while Swift’s re-recorded album 1989 (Taylor's Version) is due out Oct. 27.
