Aaron Rodgers Sent a Text to Jordan Love That Included the Perfect Bears Jab

Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers has firmly put his Packers tenure in the past, even as he recovers from a torn Achilles tendon in New York’s 22–16 loss to the Bills on Sept. 11.

However, Rodgers is still in touch with at least one Green Bay player: his successor, quarterback Jordan Love.

On Friday afternoon’s episode of The Pat McAfee Show, Rodgers revealed to the ESPN host and former Colts punter that he reached out to Love after the Packers dominated the Bears 38–20 on Sept. 10.

“I did send (Jordan) a text right after the Bears game—right after they pulled away, I sent him a text because I wanted him to see it when he got back to his phone, ‘Congratulations on keeping the ownership in place,’” Rodgers said.

Love threw for 245 yards and three touchdowns in the win.

Rodgers vexed Chicago during his 18-year Green Bay tenure, winning 24 of 29 matchups between the two teams. On Oct. 17, 2021, he memorably yelled “I still own you!” after scoring a rushing touchdown during a 24–21 Packers win at Soldier Field.
