Couple Who Foreshadowed Taylor Swift-Travis Kelce Romance in 2020 Goes Viral

For one clairvoyant teacher and her husband, none of this was accidental.

Go back in time, if you will, to the pandemic Halloween of 2020.

Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce is working on his sixth straight Pro Bowl season—and possibly the best statistical year of his career. Musician Taylor Swift, fresh off the adulation afforded by the cozy Folklore, is presumably eyeing the even cozier Evermore. No special relationship exists between these two facts or people.

However, at least one Instagram user had a dream. On Oct. 30, 2020, teacher Makayla Stephens posted a picture of herself and her husband dressed up for Halloween as... Swift and Kelce.

“I don’t know any world in which Taylor Swift + Travis Kelce would be in the same room together, but apparently in this one they’re married?” Stephens wrote.

The rest, as they say, is history, as Swift and Kelce’s tentative relationship in 2023 has dominated headlines in sports, music and elsewhere.

Stephens, meanwhile, is being heralded as clairvoyant.

Kansas City, under an unfamiliar non-Super Bowl monocultural microscope, will visit the Jets this Sunday before a national, prime-time audience. Swift’s next album, a re-recording of 2014’s nonuple-platinum 1989, is due out Oct. 27.
