Seahawks’ Jamal Adams Apologizes to Doctor for Heated Sideline Outburst During Game

Seahawks safety Jamal Adams issued an apology to the NFL’s unaffiliated neurotrauma consultant who evaluated him after he sustained a head injury in the first quarter of Monday night’s game against the Giants.

Adams was making his return to game action for the first time in more than a calendar year after sustaining a season-ending quadriceps injury in 2022. After being examined for a possible concussion, Adams was ruled out of the game.

At the time, Adams could be seen on the sideline shouting at the doctor while being held back by a couple of Seattle’s trainers. He apologized for his reaction on Wednesday and admitted he was in the wrong after watching the replay.

“First and foremost, I want to apologize to the OG. You did everything right when you realized I was concussed,” Adams wrote in a message posted on social media. “I apologize for any negative energy I brought your way.

“Watching the replay, I am thankful for your patience knowing I wasn’t myself in that moment. You’re a real one and you serve a great purpose that benefits the NFL and so many players. Prioritizing player’s health is essential. Much respect to you!”

Earlier on Wednesday, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported that the NFL was considering possible discipline against Adams for his actions on Monday night.

Adams made two tackles in his brief appearance against New York. He was on the field for nine total snaps before exiting due to the injury.
